1 Corinthians 1:10-16
schism = split or division between strongly opposed sections or parties, cause by differences of opinion and belief.
The double-fault line of a “schism”:
1 – Mind – the intellectual faculties of perceiving and understanding.
2 – Judgment – opinion, point of view.
In all that the nous perceives and understands, the gnome is the conclusion reached and the opinion held on the matter.
“Is Christ divided?” (v. 13)
God’s will, His purpose, and His plan for the fullness of time is the uniting of all things in Christ.
If a professing believer is a consistent source of division and disunity in the church, there is a strong chance he/she does not belong to the Kingdom.
Division isn’t a doctrine problem; it’s a love problem.
It’s not enough to simply not be divided; we have to make every effort to be united.
