White Stone Foundations: The Mission, Pt. 4 – How to Make Disciples (According to Jesus)

Matthew 28:18-20

Baptism assumes conversion.
Conversion assumes preaching.

  • Acts 2:37-38
  • Ephesians 2:8-9
  • Romans 10:9-13
  • John 3:16-18

While baptism is not necessary in order to be saved, it is mandatory for the saved in order to be obedient.

  • Mark 1:4-5

When a person becomes a believer and is baptized, he is joining a revolution against the corrupt Kingdom of this world and declaring his allegiance to the Kingdom of God in Christ.

While it is symbolic, baptism is not merely symbolic.

  • Mark 16:15-16
  • Romans 10:13-17
  • Ezekiel 36:26-27
  • Philippians 2:12-13

Every follower of Christ is commanded to teach other Christ followers how to follow Christ for themselves.

Jesus taught primarily by inviting others into His life to learn by first-hand experience.

  • Matthew 9:10
  • John 4:7
  • Mark 2:23
  • Luke 5:3
  • Luke 8:4

We cannot make disciples from a distance.
