1 Corinthians 1:18-25
The Hebrew word we translate “wisdom” is chokmah (hoke-MAH).
Wisdom is knowing how to experience the best possible life.
The source of any true wisdom is an understanding of who God is and who we are in light of that.
1 John 4:7-12
Human flourishing is best experienced by love expressed through justice, mercy, and intimacy with God.
1 John 2:15-17
The message of the cross runs radically counter-cultural to the message of the world.
The Kingdom of God operates by a completely different economy and cannot be assessed or evaluated by the same standards that the world uses to determine worth.
The “coin of the realm” in the Kingdom of God is knowing Jesus Christ.
The Wisdom of the World and the Wisdom of God cannot be mixed together.
Following Jesus means you’re going to seem foolish to some people sometimes. And that’s a good thing!
